You Should Get Cut

You should never show up late for fishing. I don't like to wait on people, and I sure don't like to wait on people unless they arrive with lunch and a nice IPA or two. This guy ate my flex floss midge #18 somewhere along the Truckee River today with just Elliot watching.

Truckee River, CA

Spring flows are here. The water is high due to the biggest winter in over twenty five years. Warm days spark the run-off. There is clarity though, and if you stay above Hirschdale and fish up towards the town of Truckee, there are fish to be caught. I don't see the river coming down anytime soon. You have to adjust your tactics. Fish big and uglies, streamers, stones, etc. Use big tippet, because the fish you catch will be heavy. This is a good time to catch your trophy Truckee River trout and there will be some very big fish caught this spring. Put in the time and you could be rewarded.
