Take the kids fish'n

A couple shots of some great kids I've had the priveledge to guide in the last few weeks. Tarin caught and released a nice Rainbow a few weeks ago. The top photos are of Dylan who really did well on the Truckee.

Spring flows are here. The water is high due to the biggest winter in over twenty five years. Warm days spark the run-off. There is clarity though, and if you stay above Hirschdale and fish up towards the town of Truckee, there are fish to be caught. I don't see the river coming down anytime soon. You have to adjust your tactics. Fish big and uglies, streamers, stones, etc. Use big tippet, because the fish you catch will be heavy. This is a good time to catch your trophy Truckee River trout and there will be some very big fish caught this spring. Put in the time and you could be rewarded.
